Jean Baptiste, How did you know?

Jean Baptiste, How did you know?

When French philosopher Jean Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote, “Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose” in 1849, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t thinking about financial obstacles for high net-worth families and business owners… but he sure nailed it. Translated into English, he simply said, “The more things change, the more they remain the same.”

While much has changed in the world since Plybon & Associates opened our doors in 1950, the issues and problems we see regularly have largely stayed the same. Some of those include:

  • Business owners formulating exit strategies when it is too late (or never at all) and the value that is lost by the delayed thinking.
  • Estate planning that is left ignored or incomplete… and the strain on the families left trying to make difficult decisions.
  • Monies (and dreams) lost to poorly constructed and/or poorly administered life insurance.

Going forward, we will be sharing thoughts and ideas here that we hope will help you, your family, and your business avoid the mistakes of so many in the past.

So thank you very much for the advice and reminder, Jean Baptiste. Or maybe I should say, “merci beaucoup!”
