Adventures of a New Homeowner – Who Loves to Paint?

Note: As a new homeowner, I wanted to share some of the personal experiences my wife and I have had as we moved to Greensboro. Hopefully, you enjoy the peek into our lives over the course of this series!

Up until about a month ago, I do not think I had ever painted a room in my life – and now I have helped paint two rooms while my wife has painted a third… boy did I have a lot to learn!

One of the mistakes I was making early on was putting too much paint in one area and not spreading it out effectively. But lucky for me, Ashley had lots of experience painting and was able to help me correct my mistakes.

Throughout the process, I learned there is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into painting a room – from buying the right supplies to taping the room off, and edging before rolling the large areas – but it is this preparation and planning that makes the finished product look so good!

Now that we have gotten a few rooms painted, the house is getting closer to our vision. And because we took the time to plan and prepare properly, looks much better than if it was left up to me to freestyle paint!

Like painting a room, getting our finances right can take planning and preparation. If the proper steps are not taken, our finances may not look the way that we want them to, but the stakes are much higher than when painting a room!

If you want to talk about what steps it takes to make sure your finances turn out the way that you want, we would love to set up a time to talk!
